QTS Realty Trust is planning a major data center project, QTS PHX 3, in Glendale, Arizona, featuring a 3 million-square-foot campus across 16 buildings, each at least 180,000 square feet. The project will be developed in multiple phases, starting with the southernmost buildings, and will include office and operations spaces along with data halls. The site will also feature a 29-acre substation and is located on nearly 400 acres north of Camelback Road and west of the Loop 303. QTS aims to provide rapid, large-scale deployments with 750 megawatts of power capacity, enough to power approximately 120,000 homes. This development is part of QTS’s broader investment in the Phoenix metro area, a prime data center market due to its land availability and low risk of natural disasters. Despite some local opposition to similar projects, the Valley remains a key hub for data center growth.
