Phoenix-based Pivotal Group is investing $100 million to purchase and renovate the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak, a property originally developed in 1977. Pivotal acquired the resort for $39.5 million from Fortress Investment Group, which had bought it in 2019 for $51.35 million. The resort, formerly known as The Pointe at Squaw Peak, was renamed after public pressure led to changing the mountain’s name to Piestewa Peak. Pivotal plans to add a spa, fitness center, and new adult pool while renovating the resort’s 432 rooms, with work starting next summer. The renovation aims to refresh the historic property, which has hosted notable figures like Barack Obama.
